KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army organised a special function at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel of Kathmandu, towards the occasion of the Nepal Army Day coinciding when using the Mahashivaratri festival, on Monday.
On the occasion, President Bidya Devi Bhandari garlanded the ‘Brave Soldier’ monument at Tudinkhel and received the guard of honours. President Bhandari is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief among the NA.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Speaker of the Parliament Onsari Gharti Magar, ministers, chiefs of constitutional bodies and security agencies, high-ranking government officials and general public attended the special function.
On the occasion, a banner was displayed from a helicopter and the NA presented various parades as well as the Mahashivaratri Badhain, march-pasts some other various programmes pertaining to the NA.
Similarly, various groups also performed different cultural processions in the event.
