Nepal Students Union Kathmandu Chapter has padlocked the offices of the campus chiefs in the Kathmandu Valley, protesting against the Tribhuvan University decision on holding election by setting age limit for candidates within the elections of the free students unions. A team led by Chapter Chair Manoj Baidya reached various campus as Pashupati, Saraswati, Public Youth, Tri Chandra, Patan, Shankar Dev, Min Bhawan and others to padlocked the offices within the campus chiefs. Chairman Baidya questioned, “Can’t the people above 28 years be student?” He vented ire against the university why it was ignoring the aspiration of large regarding students. “We’ll emerge more rebellions if this decision was not removed,” he warned. It may be evident that the students above 28 years is barred from filing candidacy for the students’ union election.
