    Madhesi Morcha organise torch rally to protest election date

    Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) organised a torch rally in Saptari district headquarters Rajbiraj on Tuesday in protest around the government decision to enjoy the local level elections on May 14. Right from the government announced the date for local level election, the SLMM on Monday announced its stir programmes. As part of its protest programme, the Morcha cadres organised a torch rally today-on the eve of Madhes Banda slated for Wednesday. The torch rally began from Shiva Temple in Rajbiraj, marched around the city before concluding at Neta Chok. The participants chanted slogans against the government and warned that they probably wouldn't let any elections to convene if their demands were not met.Various Madhes-centric parties have been pressing for endorsement of constitution amendment bill registered at the Legislatrue-Parliament before the commencement of the elections in great britain. Likewise, demonstrations have been held in Tarai’s Bara, Parsa and Rautahat districts. In Birjung and Kalaiya, cadres of Madhes-based parties burnt tyres expressing discontent that end up being irresponsible to conduct elections before the constitution change.“Elections have no relevance before the amendment.
