The CPN (UML) has welcomed the announcement of the date for local bodies’ election by the lawmakers.The main opposition party, the CPN (UML), has also demanded how the government now make all necessary preparations for holding the local polls in the scheduled date.Talking to RSS after the announcement of this date, CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman Bhim Bahadur Rawal said, “The election must be held on the scheduled court.”He further said that the report for the Local Level Restructuring Commission should be sent to Election Commission after approving it soon.Responding to a query, he said although CPN (UML) was in the stance that the constitution amendment proposal would not favour the nation, the party was ready to hold discussion on it.Similarly, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has welcomed the announcement of the date for local ballot.Talking to RSS, RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa urged all political parties to create environment conducive to elections as well as to bring the Madhes-based parties on board by taking them into confidence.Meanwhile, Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has welcomed the announcement of the May 14 as the date for local elections and appealed to all to work together to hold the elections as scheduled. Responding with a query over the announcement of programmes of protest by the Madhesi morcha, leader Poudel said the Nepali Congress will still work to address the requirements of the front. “The front also needs to take part in the elections, as that is exactly what the country needs. We probably an effort to bring them on board,” he explained
