KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi on Thursday drew the attention of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh to the death of a Nepali citizen in a fire opened by Indian border security personnel last week.In step to Nidhi’s concern, Singh said the incident was regrettable, according to DPM’s press advisor Ramjee Dahal. Meanwhile, Nidhi proposed that two additional teams be mobilised for the management of disputed border pillars in order to end the disputes today. Three technical teams comprising representatives from both the nations are already working for the similar for last three years.Singh said India was positive about the proposal, Dahal informed in a statement after the meeting.Meanwhile, the two leaders also discussed continuing the existing bilateral security cooperation. Nidhi also used the opportunity to seek logistic support from the southern neighbour for the upcoming local level elections on May 14.Nepali Ambassador to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, was also present in the meeting.Meanwhile, Nidhi is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj today itself.
