Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Mister. Bigyan Raj Sharma signed the petition in support of ‘No Thanks! I Carry My Own Bag’ campaign for an immediate ban of single use plastic bags in Nepal.In a gathering with the Campaign team on 22nd September 2014 Mr. Sharma assured the campaigners Shilshila Acharya and Pradip Khatiwada to provide full support to the campaign. He told, “if government is deciding to ban plastic bags by Baisakh 1, 2072, allow me to assure you that Nepal Police will leave no stone unturned to ensure no-one can uses plastic bags in Kathmandu”.Similarly, DIG for Armed Police Force, Mr. Khadananda Chaudhary also signed the petition demonstrating his support to the campaign. “We’ll fully support the ban of plastic bags. You don’t have to worry in the part of implementation. We’ll take good it”, Mr. Chaudhary left a comment.The words of support instilled even more confidence in the campaigners.
