Onsari Gharti first woman Speaker in Nepal’s history (Onsari speech in Peoples War)

UCPN M@oi$t’s Onsari Gharti Magar has become the first female Speaker of the Parliament. Magar was unanimously elected after her contender Anuradha Thapa of the Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party (NWPP) withdrew her candidacy. A former Maoist guerrilla, Magar was on the frontlines of many crucial battles. She was seven months-pregnant when she fought in the battle of Pakhapani in Rolpa in 1999.




Onsari Gharti Magar was one in the fighters who were involved in submitting to directories attack against the state run during the Holeri incident when the then CPN-Maoist introduced armed conflict in the united states. Born on November 1

 1977, at Jankot VDC of Rolpa, Gharti had begun her political journey via student wing belonging to the CPN (Unity Centre).In 1995, Onsari married her neighbour and CPN-Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, who helped her take big strides in her political career. The year just passed she got married, she was working in the attack by her party on a police post at Holeri.She went underground after the ravage. She led the party-led fronts at different places, became the party’s central committee member in 2003 and a politburo member of Unified CPN-Maoist a decade late
