Injuries have been reported when two rival student organisations clashed in Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus at Exhibition Road in Kathmandu on Saturday.Nepali Congress affiliated Nepal Student Union (NSU) and CPN-UML’s sister organisation All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) clashed over Free Student Union candidates nomination. Students pelted stones at each other through the 15 minute scuffle.
NSU, Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum and Biplov Chand’s CPN Maoist’s student organisations had padlocked the election office of the campus halting registration of election job seekers. The clash ensued when rival ANNFSU and ANNFSU-R, affiliated with CPN (Maoist Center), established another office for candidate plate.
Police said students from both sides were injured within the scuffle. The situation has now been taken under control, police
