CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has reiterated the UML’s stance that it will not allow the constitution amendment bill to be endorsed by the Parliament, claiming the bill to be against the national . At a press meet with the editors and senior media persons from various media houses organized by UML Central Publicity Department in Kathmandu today, leader Oli chose to make this remark while shedding light on the UML’s nation-wide Mechi-Mahakali National Campaign. Dismissing the hearsay that UML is anti-Madhesh, the former Prime Minister claimed that previous government led by him had allocated the particular budget in Madhesh. Oli expressed his qualm over the statement by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi, stating that it had been aimed at marring the UML’s nation-wide campaign. The campaign would begin from Kakadvitta in Jhapa from March 4 and is waged throughout the country, concluding in Surkhet on March 18. During this partisan drive, the major opposition UML will organize various programmes aimed at imparting knowledge to folks about UML’s agendas too as increasing awareness on issues of public interest such as implementation of the constitution, elections and nationality among others. Publicity materials would be published many languages including Nepali, Maithali, Tharu and Bhojpuri, according to UML Central Publicity Dept. Similarly, UML General-Secretary Ishwor Pokharel added that the campaign was going to be launched to safeguard the nationality and national condition. Likewise, UML Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai said that the campaign does not want to stoke animosity with any political party.
