Martyrs day of Nepal has been celebrated today at Sahid Munch that is situates at Lainchaur, Kathmandu organizing various programs. And also the different programs were organized in Sahid Gate (Martyrs gate) of Kathmandu.
Martyrs Day or Shahid Diwas is widely known every year on Magh 16 according to Nepali Calendar. Martyrs week is celebrated from Magh 10- 16. Similarly, the 16th of the Nepali month of Magh is commemorated as the Martyrs Day every 12.
Sahid Gate can be a monument to the martyrs in Kathmandu. It is a day when the nation pays tribute on the brave sons and daughter who gave their life for that greater cause belonging to the country and the people.
This day is even an occasion to relive the sacrifices made along with martyrs for the values and principles how they dearly cherished and also the moment to reflect how much we have contributed to upholding these values.
Prime Minister Prachanda has attended method at Sahid Munch, Lainchaur and offered floral tribute to the martyrs of Nepal. And also the mass men and women even have paid tribute to the martyrs utilizing a rally from Shanti Batika to Sahid Munch of Lainchaur, Kathmandu.
